So began her career with Red Letter Days. An experience company specialising in providing the ultimate in experience for the public, Edith Emilie took hundreds of people to sea from a variety of locations on the south coast of England. Operating in all weather conditions, she gave her visitors an experience never to be forgotten. Fully equipped with all of the latest all weather clothing, RNLI standard lifejackets and safety kit, including Gecko helmets. The guests, without exception, left after an exciting, personally fulfilling and unforgettable experience and a renewed respect for operational lifeboat crews.
For a special time, Edith visited Exeter, Devon. Reaching the Devon city via a ship canal beginning part way up the river Exe from Exmouth, she enjoyed a year of extraordinary warmth and support from residents and visitors of the city. Entertaining visitors aboard whilst berthed within the city's ancient docks and wharfs; she often travelled to the open sea with visitors and guest crew to passage between Exmouth and locations to the east and west, with Dartmouth becoming a favoured visiting harbour destination. Edith and her crew met a group of very special people whilst at Exeter, and these have become crew and friends that remain with us today.
After the extraordinary year at Exeter, Edith Emilie went into annual maintenance at Southampton’s Saxon Wharf, after which she enjoyed a varied and rewarding phase of operational duty, in many guises, and achieved many notable accolades from being a boat of interest at a number of key events.
Sadly Red Letter Days went into administration owing Edith Emilie through ‘The Shout Experience’ a significant amount of money and lost business. This was unfortunate timing for Edith as she was busy equipping with new equipment and undergoing costly maintenance to maintain her MCA approvals when, reliant on her forecast revenue, she was unable to operate effectively and maintain necessary costs.
